WISeKey is a leading global cybersecurity company deploying large scale digital identity ecosystems for people and objects using Blockchain, AI and IoT.
In March 2021, WISeKey recognized the many advantages of owning their own satellite infrastructure. By partnering with FOSSA Systems, they aimed to revolutionize IoT connectivity and improve data security. FOSSA provided the end-to-end solution to its customer, including the satellite, payload, launch, operations, and data visualization tools in the service.
WISeKey’s primary goal was to establish complete control and customization over its satellite assets. They were looking to align their satellite capabilities precisely with their unique IoT requirements, optimizing data transmission and security for seamless communication. WISeKey leveraged FOSSA Systems’ dedicated infrastructure service, which enabled them to acquire a WISeSaT PocketQube satellite, specifically a FOSSASAT-2E satellite designed to further reduce the costs of small Cubesat satellites.
With this solution, WISeKey gained autonomy and access to data, without the burden of delays or third-party restrictions. The flexibility provided by the dedicated infrastructure service allowed them to prioritize data collection and innovate without constraints.
