Calling all universities and research teams in Spain and Portugal!
At FOSSA, we are launching an innovation programme for university R&D teams to explore new use cases for satellite IoT connectivity in environments where traditional communication networks are limited or unavailable.
Selected teams will receive free access to the FOSSA Nexus LoRa Gateway, enabling direct connectivity to our Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation, for a six-month experimentation period.
The programme will take place in two phases:
Call for Ideas
Submit your proposal by 31 July 2026. To be eligible, projects must present a clear commercial application with the potential to address a real market need. Five finalist projects will be selected and announced on 11 September 2026.
Experimentation Phase
Finalists will receive the device to develop, test and validate their proposed use cases over six months.
At the end of the programme, each team will present its results and key learnings. The winning project will receive:
- A €1,000 cash prize
- The opportunity to keep the FOSSA Nexus device
We hope to discover innovative applications in areas such as agriculture, environmental monitoring, infrastructure, logistics, water management and many other sectors where satellite IoT can create real impact.
Are you part of a university or research team ready to push the boundaries of satellite connectivity?
