We are back with a new update!
Richard had been hard working on the website and as you can probably tell it has had a major update, hopefully this will make it easier to navigate the different aspects of the website.
Last weekend we presented our FossaSat-1 project at the IberRadio 2018 Spanish Radio Amateur conference, it was great to talk to the community about the project and how it will be linked to the HAM radio amateur community. The feedback was very positive and we look forward to working with radio amateurs worldwide!
We also met with the Spanish Radio Amateur Union and AMSAT-EA during the conference to discuss the project, we will be collaborating with them throughout the project and will definitely post more information on the collaboration!
As far as development is concerned we have received all electrical components for the FossaSat-1 v2 model and are working hard on assembling and testing the electrical systems.
FossaSat-1’s new PCB’s have arrived and are currently being soldered and assembled, these were all kindly sponsored by JLCPCB, they offer high-quality PCB manufacturing for only 2$ with 48h turnaround! Check out their website by clicking on the image below.
These PCB’s offer great quality and are manufactured precisely, they are designed to fly into space and will do so, further proving their endurance and quality!
The mechanical structure prototype has been fully assembled using 3d printed hinges & structures, these parts will now be milled using aluminium for further testing.
This 24th and 25th of September we will be attending the Open Source Cubsat Workshop in Madrid, we hope to interact with the Pocketqube and Smallsat community and are arranging a couple meetings with similar projects. Let us know if you will be there!
